Open ocean bottom fishing has come to life and the bay will snap to life any day now. Our charters have been still focused on tog and seabass which are as good as they can get. James Key and family from Lewes had a perfect weather day and caught a limit of tasty Delaware tautog and the group released many others. Another trip with Allen Redsford and associated from EDIS Company from Wilmington saw a very calm, mild day but the fog was thick as it could get. Fishing started out a bit slow but as it lightened up when the fog lifted the tautog came to life and the group caught their limit of big fat tog, many of which were citations. Rick Mitchell and friends from Glen Burnie, Md. were along on a seabass trip in the ocean and it didn't take long to fill the fish box with a limit for everyone aboard. A large bluefish was also landed. Mike Barnes and a fine group from Quebecore Printing also had a great ocean trip for seabass. Again the cooler was filled with a limit of seabass, many of which were citations. I am still getting reports of good black drum catches in the Delaware Bay with some big stripers mixed in.
