Inshore bottom fishing continues to see mixed bag catches including croakers, flounder, seabass, bluefish, and blowfish. We will continue to see these mixed bag catches thru the first of October when tog fishing reopens. After October first we will begin to target tog on regular basis and will continue to fish for tog thru the new year. We will begin striper fishing by first of November and continue with the stripers thru the new year as well. Offshore fishing in our area is still nothing like it used to be with the exception of those marlin fishing.
After the passage of the first Hurricane and a good cold front forcing the cancellation of an offshore trip we took the Henry Family out for a day of bottom fishing. Well things were still stirred up but we did manage a pair of keeper flounder and some croakers for the day. After a day of settling we headed out for an overnight trip with Don Yocum and friends. We caught a couple of dolphin trolling , but the overnight with the exception of a pair of hammerhead sharks was uneventful. So we headed back in shore in the morning and caught a Yellowfin and three more dolphin for the trip.
Brett Conley and family had a nice mixed bag day including some seabass, bluefish, and croakers for the day along with several throwback flounder. John Joswick and friends had a nice catch in the bay including four nice flounder, plenty of croakers, bluefish, blowfish and sea trout. John Gatone and friends had an excellent catch of croakers and bluefish along with some throw back flounder.
Remember to take the kids fishing. Give us a call if you would like to get in on some of the great fall fishing!
