The July 1st tog opening once again did not let us down. Flounder fishing is still good, at least with numbers of fish daily. The yellowfin tuna fishing has shown some great results for those trolling in the canyons. With any luck we will have some great tuna chunking this fall again. Triggerfish and croaker action are both slower than usual but this should pick up.

Alex Levantowsky and crew joined us for the July 1 tog fish reopening and had a great catch of tog up to 9lbs. Bernie Smelstoys and friends also had a nice day on the tog harvesting fish to 8lb 4oz. Tyrone Walters and crew had a beautiful day for tog fishing. Unfortunately the tog were not as cooperative as we would have liked. We made several moves and wound up okay with plenty of tog dinners, a triggerfish, and a nice flounder.

Jamar Myers and family joined us next and had a great afternoon trip on the tog. The fish bit great but many went back to grow up. Dave Johannis joined us next for a half day and had an excellent morning catching tog including releasing a 9 lb female. Alex Levantowsky and crew were back at it and had a near limit catch of tog including several over 7lbs.

Hearing of the good flounder bite, we took Gerry Dinkins and family to see what we could do. The guys did a great job of catching them especially Uncle Scott, but at the end of the day we wound up keeping two out of sixty plus fish. Jim Kamalski and friends had a nice day of flounder fishing but once again we only kept two for the day once again.
