We have spent most of the time since our last report drum fishing. We have done a little flounder fishing and early indications are that we should have a good summer with the flounder. Rumors of the first croakers in the area are good news. Seabass fishing is still good in the ocean but the keeper ratio is not good. We have pulled the boat to repaint her. She will get a shiny new coat of red. We will resume fishing on June 20th.
Jim Skymba and friends harvested three nice drum including a 71 lb fish for Tom Foltz and a 59 lb drum for Tom Saunders. Gab Lampty held down the bunk for the afternoon catching only some Z's. Bernie Smelstoys and family harvested two nice flounder and two nice drum as well. Andy Duncan and friends had an enjoyable night of drum fishing with all five on board catching a nice drum fish. Thanks for hanging in there through mother nature's fireworks and releasing the last two for another day. John Ganoe and coworkers had a slick flat calm day of drum fishing. Things looked good as
we caught the first drum in ten minutes but we spent the rest of the trip looking for number two. Jim Infussi and friends headed up the bay for an afternoon trip and returned with one lone Drum fish for their efforts. Jim Weidman returned again this year looking for a couple of good nights like we saw this time last year and we returned home with one fish each night. Jim did catch one that weighed 81.8lbs so congratulations on catching our biggest of the season. Dick Yohe and friends caught some nice flounder which was a good sign for things to come.
We have plenty of openings for the summer months so give us a call if you would like to get out fishing.
